Hey there strangers! Sorry for the silence, things have been a little crazy here, but I was about to get my Project Run & Play look done and submitted ONE WHOLE DAY early! Score!

This month the challenge was to use Jess from The Sewing Rabbit's knot dress tutorial. I love this pattern. It is so simple to make, and turns out looking very complicated. I knew right away what I wanted to make, which is very unusual for me! The actual making part gave me a little more trouble!

I didn't want to make a dress, tunic or romper (which I still may for my little one this summer!), so I took it in a different direction and made a swimsuit! Here is my "Knot a Bikini"!  I just love how it turned out!

For the top I just cut out the pattern in a size 3 to allow for the stretchy-ness {totally a word}of the fabric and sewed it up. Tip:  use a serger if you have one. It worked so much better!

I must have taken two hundred pictures of the back. I LOVE how it looks!

I lined the bodice with a plain pink to have a little contrast and show off the ties.

For the bottom I just traced one that she already had and added little ties on the side to mimic the tutorial. I wanted to add a ruffle, but I got, "Mooooom, I'm too old for a ruffle!" Sheesh.

I can already picture her teen years....save me!

It will definitely be worn this summer, hopefully they will remove that hideous pool cover soon! Let my usual picture overload commence! Seriously, I took 405 pictures, it's so hard to narrow it down!

I love how it turned out and hopefully it will make top ten! Check back Monday to find out!

    1. My goal is to get in the top ten every month! We shall see! Sewing the bodice was easy, but I screwed up once and made the bottom way too small. No thongs for my 9 year old!
